SEO Geeks News Vol 20

Talk of the town

When your link profile is devalued – Eric (Ward) put together an entertaining story of understanding link valuations and velocity… a worthy addition!

SEO copywriting is music to the ears – my fav copywriter, Angie Haggerstrom, did a wonderful post on SEP which is a good read. Content programs are the cornerstone of modern SEO and more posts like this are needed of late!

Building links with content ideas – another great post on the LinkSpiel which also touches on content and link building. Once more, content is huge these days and can make the link building job ever so much easier with a little research.

When social media PR matters more than SEO – Matt McGee has a great post outlining when SEO can take a back seat. I personally do believe that it is important to have a solid marketing mix, this post shows one example of that.

Blind spot SEO techniques – Michael’s thought provoking post on how we can be limited by the verticals we work in… a must read!

Confessions of an SEO Copywriter (You don't need a lot of copy) – continuing the theme this week, content, this post over on SEW was also an interesting find. This time Nathania takes a look at the minimalist approach.

Head’s up on tag optimization (SEM 101) – the folks at the Bing webmaster blog continue to put out some interesting stuff… hell, they talk about SEO like it was a good thing – who knew?

Google Adds Creative Commons Filter to Image Search – a mildly interesting development which was noted by the folks over at SEW ( I told ya it was a slow week…sigh)
